Inspired
by the movie Pay it Forward (If you've
never seen it, rent it today! It's a "must see.") and
the Gifting Program I saw recently on another website, I've decided
to create my own "Pay
it Forward" Gifting Program at New World Creations.
The
premise of this program (and the movie) is the idea of repaying
a gift or kindness, not back to the person who gave it, but forward
to someone else (or to many someone elses), and to keep the idea
going by asking them to do the same thing.
In
this spirit I am offering 8" x 10" prints of the images
below in exchange for your promise to "pay it forward" in
some way. These prints are made individually by me, not mass produced.
Each is made to order.
How
does this work?
You
choose one of the images below and request
a copy.
I
will send you a free 8" x 10" copy of the image with
the understanding that you will "pay it forward" by
gifting others, and encouraging them to do so as well.
What
if I don't have a product or service I can offer free? How can
I set up a "pay it forward" gifting program in my life?
There
are endless ways you can gift your fellow humans (or the planet
in general) by regularly practicing some act of kindness. Here
are some examples:
- If
you regularly drive on a road with tolls, instead of always
using the automated lanes, use the manned toll booth occasionally
and pay for the car behind you as well as yourself. Even better...

card from your computer that states you are participating in
a "pay it forward" gifting program by paying for
others tolls, and ask the receivers of your kindness to "pay
if forward" by doing a favor for someone else. Then give
the toll booth operator the card when you pay and
ask him/her to give it to the driver behind you.
- Gather
up some of those shopping carts that other customers leave in the
parking lot and take them to the spots designated for the
return of the carts. Even better...

card from your computer that states you are participating in
a "pay it forward" gifting program by moving shopping
carts out of way and into their designated return spots and
put one in each cart you move. Suggest that the finder themselves
do some random act of kindness that day.
- Carry
"Pay it Forward" business cards in your wallet or purse, and
whenever you do a favor for someone and they ask how they can
repay you, hand them a card and ask them to do a favor for
someone else.
- Just
do random acts of kindness and tell your friends about the "pay
if forward" idea. Encourage them to gift others in some
way and pass on the "pay if forward" idea when they
do.
- There
are infinite ways you can gift others in your life. Most importantly
spread the idea of "paying it forward."

spirit of paying it forward.

Here
is a beautiful story sent to me by one of the recipients of
The Gifting Program, which she has graciously agreed to let
me share.
Hi Atmara,
Your artwork is even more of a gift than I realized! I love
how creative the Universe is. The mailman delivered the package
addressed to me to the wrong address. It ended up on 66th Street
Ocean Front. A kind gentleman called me this morning to say
he had my art mail. My husband and I were on our way to the
car parked out front when right at the moment we had a miracle.
A beautiful osprey flew right over us with a big silver fish
in its mouth.
Now, I've seen lots of ospreys but never one with a fish. The
timing was amazing and the message was to trust that all is
well. God provides. Anyhow when we drove down Oceanfront, in
the parking lot was a car with a license plate ART. My husband
laughed. We picked up the package and were driving back across
the street heading for home...when again..another osprey flew
overhead carrying a fish! So even though there are bends in
the road, just like in your butterfly painting...the way is
leading to the light...just follow.
I love the painting! I'm a nature person...and the golden day
lilies bordering the path are lovely. A man from New England
just last week was commenting on the beautiful yellow day lilies
in his yard. "You start out with one...and before you
know it...they're everywhere." They keep on multiplying
as they are divided and shared...just like the Pay It Forward
Program.
