Announcing First Thursday Events – Share Your Best Blog Post

I live in a town that has what it calls a “First Friday Art Walk.” Being a town with many art galleries and restaurants that display local art, on the First Friday of each month all the galleries and restaurants have an open house. New artwork is displayed, there is often live music, wine and cheese, a general party atmosphere where some of the best art in town is newly displayed for the residents and tourists to view. I know other towns also have “First Friday” events where merchants put on their best displays and invite customers in with specials and food and drink.

Last August I had a post called Sharing the Spotlight Day-List Your Blog Post Here. I invited anyone who wanted to post a link to a recent blog post to do so. It was great fun and I liked the idea so much that I decided to make it a monthly event. So starting  October 7, I will host a “First Thursday – Share Your Best Blog Post” event. (Why First Thursday, not First Friday? Well, I usually post on Monday and Thursday, and not Friday, just works better for me).

I invite you to visit my blog that day, October 7, and list a link to one of your best blog posts in the comments. You may want to create something special for the occasion, or list one of your older posts that you consider really good. You choose the topic. Consider it a chance to guest post on my site.

I use the CommentLuv plug-in (highly recommended for all WordPress blogs!) which automatically gives you a link back to your most recent blog post. So you’ll get the chance to have 2 links to your blog (always good for SEO), a chance to get your work in front of a new audience, the chance to connect with other bloggers, and just the chance to have some fun reading what others have listed. And I get all that and lots of traffic!
